Since August of 2023 detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) have been investigating an allegation of a sexual assault by an adult male against a 15-year-old female victim.
The investigation determined that the female victim met a male on the internet using the phone application Snapchat (username - “jack.ishere” and “jack.ou”). The male suspect “befriended” the victim arranging to meet her in person and provide her with cannabis. In August of 2023 the victim met the suspect in the City of Welland after he traveled to Niagara. The victim was sexually assaulted in a dark four-door sedan the suspect was driving.
After a lengthy investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect. On Nov. 1, 2024, the suspect surrendered himself to detectives at NRPS Headquarters in Niagara Falls and was arrested.
Saad Jalal Ismail Aldakhi (25 yrs.) of London, Ont. has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offences of:
- sexual assault
- sexual interference
Aldakhi was held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on Nov. 1, 2024.
As a result of the ongoing investigation detectives have received information that there may be more victims in Niagara, Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area under similar circumstances. The photo and name of the accused is being released in the interest of public safety in an attempt to identify other potential victims or witnesses.
