Peacefully, passed away from Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, surrounded by the love of family and friends, at NHS-St Catharines on Wednesday July 03, 2024, at 81 years of age.
Beloved husband of Cathy for 53 years. Knowing him was the greatest gift she ever received.
Though he is no longer with us, you can find his creativity, humour and love of language in his daughter, Amanda, and son, Louis.
Fred's love of fishing and the outdoors lives on in his grandson, Noah.
He was a kind-hearted and altruistic father to daughter-in-law, Michelle, and to everyone else who needed a Dad.
His dedication to family is reflected in his sister, Patricia.
He was both cousin and fast friend to Betty Joan.
Sorry, there were a lot of people. We could go on.
Fred was a lifelong student of history and the Canadian Armed Forces and authored a book on the subject. He proudly served for many years, in many different capacities, with the CSMMI.
A renaissance man and great teacher with a plethora of interests and knowledge, which he loved to share.
A private celebration of his life is being planned for the future.
His visible presence will be missed but he will ever be loved.
