On Saturday August 3rd in his 87th year. George passed away, peacefully, surrounded by family. Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara for 64 years. Loving father of Brian (Louise), Shelley and Gary (Shelly). Proud Papa of Tyler (Mackenzie), Kaily (Drew), Nicole, Chelsea (Jesse), Lindsay, Ethan (Giuliana) and Nicolas (Raegan); great-Papa of Grayson. He will be missed by his brother, Harry and sister-in law Anne. He is predeceased by his brother, Edward and sister-in-law Madelaine.
George was a co-owner of Sheppard Fence Company. After retirement, he became an active member of Legion Branch #24, where he played pool with his friends. Special thanks to Ted, Jim and Andy for their many years of friendship and support.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Niagara Health - St. Catharines, especially nurses Derek (Palliative Care) and Bailey (ICU) for their extra special care.
Cremation has taken place, and as per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. Donations may be made in George’s honour to a charity of your choice.
