Margaret (Peggy) Rose Bechard 1933 - 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Margaret (Peggy) Rose Bechard on May 15th, 2023 in her 90th year at the Extended Care Unit in Welland Ontario. Predeceased by her husband David Hugh Beal of 40 years (1997) and husband Gilles Bechard of 18 years (2016). Predeceased by son Kenneth Donald Beal (2001).
Margaret will be dearly missed by her daughter Teresa MacNeil, son Norman Beal and wife Leslie Beal, son James Beal, grandchildren Jake MacNeil, Joseph MacNeil, Rebecca MacNeil (Teresa); Joshua Beal and Lucas Colantino (Norman); Justin Beal, Dylan Beal (James) David Beal, Cathie Wunsch, James Beal, and Robert Beal (Kenneth) and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was born in Regina Saskatchewan in 1933 to Francis and Robert McCutcheon and is predeceased by her 5 sisters Gerry, Dorothy, Theresa, Shirley and Grace. She moved to Ontario in 1953 to help her sister Gerry and husband Philip look after her nephews and nieces and where she met her husband and childrens’ father David Beal. They resided in Hamilton, then Burlington and then had many adventurous moves to London Ontario, Dallas Pennsylvania, Houston Texas, Oakville Ontario then retirement in Fonthill. She was full of life and fun and made anyone around her welcome. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her and she will be remembered for her quick wit and warm personality.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association if desired.
Many thanks to all staff of the Extended Care Unit in Welland Ontario who helped to make her stay there pleasant and comfortable. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private internment with family will be held at a later date.
