Weather Advisory in effect for:
- Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region
- St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for today.
Hazards: Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 6 to 12 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
Timing: This morning through this afternoon.
Discussion: A band of lake effect snow will move into the area this morning. After a brief break, additional lake effect snow bands are expected this afternoon before moving out of the area again by this evening.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
