WATCH: Fenwick Lions car show

Take a stroll alongside some classic vehicles at Centennial Park

It was finally time on Saturday to pick the winner of this year's Fenwick Lions Classic Car Raffle prize, a 1967 Pontiac LeMans GTO, appraised at $48,000.

Shortly after the video begins, the winner can be heard on the telephone—being amplified across the park—getting the good news.  Brandon, from Ridgeway, who had "never before won anything in my life," said that he'd be quite happy to drive up immediately to claim his prize.  (Brandon had splurged and bought three raffle tickets, for a grand total of $25.)

Meanwhile, with rain clouds gathering there were several classic car owners—median age a cheerful 70—who opted for a dry departure, if one that was a little on the early side.

A couple of minutes into the stroll, we get a friendly wave from Mayor Marvin Junkin and Ward 1 Councillor Wayne Olson.
