A winter travel advisory was in place for much of Niagara Tuesday morning, as the region was expected to see up to eight centimetres of snow accumulation. Environment Canada expected snowfall to stretch from Grimsby to Port Colborne, and warned drivers of hazardous travel due to blowing snow and slippery conditions. Northwest winds produced gusts of up to 60 kilometres per hour, resulting in reduced visibility on roadways.
Town of Pelham road crews were out in force in the early morning hours, clearing snow from roads and sidewalks. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and be attentive to the winter conditions.
