NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF PELHAM
*************************
The Town of Pelham 2023 summer day camp registration has opened as of Tuesday Feb. 21, 2023, for Pelham residents. The sought-after specialty camps and the popular weekly summer programs run for nine weeks from July 3 to Sept. 1, 2023.

Pelham's summer camps run daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., with extended care available. To meet the increased demand for camp options, the Town has expanded the sessions to accommodate campers in two age groups in a junior and senior camp. Each week, youth will experience the fun and adventure of camp with activities, games, swimming, sports, unique presentations and weekly trips geared to their age group. Camps occur at the Meridian Community Centre, Old Pelham Town Hall and other Town facilities such as the pool and park spaces.

"Town of Pelham camp staff are looking forward to providing memorable adventures for more campers this summer. Campers will be able to experience new things and make new friends while they are at camp. Activities keep campers engaged and excited to come to camp," said Town of Pelham Active Living Programmer Brittany MacLeod.

New this year is a teen bike camp designed for campers aged 13+. The leader-in-training (LIT) camp also offered for 13+ provides participants with an opportunity to work with campers and build their confidence and leadership potential in a camp setting. Specialty camps available to the senior camp-aged youth include junior fire firefighters, art, and animal adventure camps.

Registration is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will open for Pelham residents initially and will expand to those residing outside Pelham on March 7, 2023. Spaces are limited to ensure the 1:7 staff-to-camper ratio is maintained; however, waitlists will be available if camps fill. Town of Pelham camp staff have first-aid and CPR certifications and receive additional camp-specific training with the Town.

Pelham residents who may require financial assistance for camp can apply through Pelham Cares if they meet eligibility requirements.
