PelhamToday received the following letter about plowing snow on side streets and how it impacts walking.
Agreement with Mr Pitt's earlier letter.
I live on the street shown in this letter and can contest to the poorly plowed/sanded roadways (Nursery Lane/Pancake Lane/ Spruceside Drive to name a few) and even worse sidewalks that are not part of Haist Street.
Unsalted sidewalks forcing people to navigate the front lawns of homeowners or go onto the road which is marginally better. An approximate one-foot-wide sand dropped onto the middle of the road does what?
We've enjoyed being in Fonthill for the past 13 years, however in the last four or five years there has been a noticeable decrease in winter maintenance. Wait until spring and we can discuss summer maintenance.
I concur with Mr Pitt's comment; "Anyways, I was going to write the authorities in charge but that requires a form, followed by a response and further investigation, possibly a consultant's report and a committee to thoroughly investigate. Here's hoping."
Yes, here's hoping!
