Not enough speed enforcement anywhere in Fonthill, says reader

PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor from Garth Hamilton in response to Pelham councillor’s motion targets Port Robinson Road speeders:

All the recent publicity regarding speeding on Port Robinson Road makes me wonder what happened to complaints on Pelham Street from Merritt Road going north. We need a four-way stop at Pancake Lane/John Street at Pelham Street, or better, turn the crosswalk light to a traffic light, for this intersection.

It has become unsafe to back out of, or into, our driveways.

There was a lot of discussion way back when traffic calming was done on Haist Street. Next it is to be Merritt Road. There just is not enough speed enforcement anywhere in Fonthill these days and with our resident density growing continually, it gets worse each year.

Do we need another bad crash at Pancake Lane and Pelham Street to bring it into focus again?
