PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor regarding penned hunting:
To Premier Doug Ford, MP Dean Allison, and MPP Sam Oosterhoff:
It is with supreme disgust I react to the announcement of CHCH 11 television this morning regarding the inhumane Penned Hunting that will continue, sadly, with yet another reversal by Premier Doug Ford.
It was reported his caucus was divided and he decided to shut down the Penned Hunting. But wait, after talking to “hunters” he reversed the decision and applications for this un-Canadian sport will take place.
Wildlife penned in large open fields are abused to death by so-called hunters’ dogs. There is no escape for these terrified creatures. The dogs literally ripe them apart.
Hard to hear but must be heard if there is ever going to be justice and hopefully the Premier will grow a heart and a stick up his back to disagree with these hunters demanding such a low practice.
Is this how a Canadian politician puts Canada on the map for all to see?
