PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor in response to this week's Hot Take about movie set gawkers:

Actually James, it does happen in every city.  What attracts us is the opportunity to see actors in person when there’s no other opportunity.  It gives us a chance to see and understand how scenes are created.

In a small way, going to those locations is a way of promoting their project.  Visitors are for the most part respectful and understand the instructions given during a shoot… “ACTION”.  In fact we look forward to seeing these scenes in upcoming shows knowing we were there.  And why should I stay away, I’m retired, I need to gawk!

We gawkers are not harassing them, in fact at the recent filming of Murdoch Mysteries, we Thoroldians were told we were very respectful of their work.  Besides, if they didn’t want gawkers, they’d set up barriers further back.  Oh, must go now, someone is just pulling into my neighbour’s driveway with a delivery.

Chill out.
