Sue Bernard, Realtor, Royal LePage NRC Realty Fonthill, has over 30 years of experience in residential real estate, commercial real estate, real estate consulting and mortgage operations. Additionally, her social media savvy and interior design sense has allowed her to grow her real estate practice rapidly in Fonthill and Niagara.

“Education and experience can help clients, especially when it comes to evaluating and marketing their homes,” says Bernard. “My MBA, CPA and of history buying and selling investment properties adds to my ability to bring honest value to my clients.”

A lot goes into a home evaluation, including the property’s physical characteristics, the neighbourhood, market conditions, upgrades, historical value and more.

Bernard takes the time to do a full detailed analysis for each client, giving them a professional assessment that reflects all the pertinent details. She calls these home assessments “coffee table booklets” because they are so thorough and detailed. Her clients appreciate the work that goes into the research and proposed marketing and clients often tell her that no other Realtor they have met with has provided this level of detail and professionalism.

“I have a calm and logical approach to helping determine what is the right course of action for my clients. I think my calmness soothes their stress levels about changing homes and my logical approach assures them they can rely on my advice without worry,” adds Bernard.

Her clients describe her as professional, approachable, knowledgeable and responsive, which helps them feel empowered when selling or buying a home. It’s an emotional journey with lots of moving parts. Having a Realtor that understands all the aspects of the transaction while providing proactive client care makes all the difference.

For example, she says, “People wonder when to look for homes versus when to list their own; how to juggle the timing. It's an important area to guide people on so they don't lose the home they just fell in love with because they have not listed in time. Other questions are about what kind of impact changing interest rates are having on the market. But more often, most people are confused about how to manage the whole process, when to do what and what kind of advice I can provide. Even after the sale I’m there to help guide my clients on the next steps.

“This is where I find I can offer the most value and they are quite reassured when I help them, and how extremely responsive I am to their inquiries. My clients also find me to be caring and approachable, with the utmost integrity and honesty.”

Bernard’s integrity is seen throughout the community.

“My husband and I volunteer with Pelham Cares every week, along with a number of other passionate volunteers, preparing food packages for pickup by people in need. Jenn Dubé does a wonderful job managing the office and coordinating all the different needs. It is a wonderful organization to be a part of,” she says.

Buying or selling a home is a complicated process with no one-size-fits-all solution. A Realtor with experience and a deep understanding of market conditions, along with a passion for community service, helps clients not only get through the buying and selling process but also to enjoy what can typically be a stressful experience.
