St. Catharines restaurant arson target

Police say two unknown suspects approached a restaurant and set it on fire before fleeing on foot

Police say a restaurant in the Port Dalhousie area was the target of an arson attack in the early hours this morning.

At around 3:22 a.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) Niagara Regional Police Service say uniform officers responded to the area of Lock Street and Lakeport Road in St. Catharines for a fire call.

The St. Catharines Fire Department was also on scene.

Investigation revealed that two unknown suspects approached a restaurant at this location and set it on fire, police said in a release.

The suspects were last seen running north on Lock Street before getting into in a black sedan at the intersection of Lock Street and Dalhousie Avenue.

Police said the vehicle continued southwest on Dalhousie Avenue.
