Police look for man suspected of breaking into Grimsby homes

Niagara Regional Police Service say the suspect took advantage of unlocked windows and doors

Detectives assigned to the 8 District (Grimsby / Lincoln / West Lincoln) detective office of the Niagara Regional Police Service are investigating a series of overnight break and enters in Grimsby.

The investigation has determined that in the early morning hours (12:00am - 5:00am) of September 7, 2023, a lone male suspect entered at least four homes, in the area of Main Street East and Park Road South.

The suspect examined the homes till he found unlocked windows and doors. In some cases, the suspect cut screens to be able to crawl through an open window. The suspect moved about the homes using a flashlight to look for valuables while the residents slept. In one home the suspect stole and then abandoned a car in the area of Elizabeth Street and Carnegie Lane.

The suspect is believed to have stolen cash and electronics.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • Slender build

The suspect was wearing:

  • Black hoodie and mask covering his face.
  • Black pants
  • Black shoes and gloves.

The identity of the suspect is unknown. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the investigating officers by calling 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009023.
