Niagara Police have provided this photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a possible attempted abduction.

On Thursday, Sept. 26 at approximately 5 p.m., 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers attended the area of Elizabeth Street and York Street in the City of St. Catharines for an attempted abduction call. 

A female victim was walking with a child when an unknown male suspect walked up to her from behind and picked her up by the waist. The female screamed resulting in the male letting go and fleeing the scene. The suspect was last seen walking east on Elizabeth Street to Lake Street. 

Detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect.   

Anyone who may have been in the area, anyone who may have video or dash cam footage from the area or anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3. Ext. 1009711.
