First his scooter was stolen, then he was charged with drug trafficking

On November 25, 2024, 3 District (Welland / Pelham) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a robbery complaint in the City of Welland. 

The initial investigation determined the complainant had been robbed of his electric scooter by three suspects. The suspects fled in a black Jeep Wrangler. A bystander and the complainant followed the suspect vehicle and the NRPS was called. Officers stopped the Jeep, and the three suspects were placed under arrest for robbery. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest recovered the stolen electric scooter and weapons used in the commission of the robbery.

Natasha Leigh Seguin (34 years) of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offences of:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

Simran Singh (32 years - female) of Welland and Mohd Farooqi (37 years) of Brampton have been arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of:

  • Robbery

Seguin, Singh, and Farooqi were held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Welland Courthouse in Welland on November 26, 2024.

Further investigation determined the complainant had an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to with a probation order with the NRPS. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of 13 g of suspected fentanyl and a canister of bear repellant spray.

Detectives from the 3 District Street Crime Unit were assigned to the investigation. Detectives subsequently executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrant at a Welland residence. Detectives seized 41.8 g of suspected fentanyl, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a home made “stun gun”.  The estimated street value of seized fentanyl is $11,000.

Justin Daniel Roesler (36 years) of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (3 Counts)
  • Possession of prohibited weapon (bear spray and homemade stun gun) (2 Counts)
  • Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Fail to comply with probation (2 Counts)

Roesler was held in custody for a video bail hearing to the Welland Courthouse in Welland on November 26, 2024.
