It is with broken hearts the family of Shane announce his passing, peacefully, at NHS-St. Catharines on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 73 years of age. Shane started a long and courageous battle, of three years, with esophageal cancer; he is now at peace.
He will be sadly missed; he was the life long, loving companion of Carol Nevestuk for 35 years. Dear Dad of Mike (Sheila) and Kevin. Proud Grampa of Joelle, Dylan, Brenton, Mikayla and Julia. He will be missed by Joelle and Dylan’s mother, Jen. Shane will be greatly missed by the Nevestuk family. Survived by his sister-in-law, Val, and his several nieces and nephews and their families. Shane was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Mary (nee Jones) and his brothers, Donnie, Craig and Bernie. A special group of Shane’s friends, Kenny, Darryl, Newf, Stagger, Todd, Uncle Jim, Dave and Larry, supplied tremendous support and that will never be forgotten.
He was a truck driver starting with long distance hauling and retiring after driving a concrete truck for 32 years. He was a fan of the Oakland/Los Angeles/ Las Vegas Raiders.
In honouring Shane’s wishes private family arrangements have taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated. https://donate.mytributegift.org/?cid=a8926cb8a33995b5e8a87063748f3ac19a4011b0b091ba597b65e97a647cda72&fh=FRP-308918&fp=3089186b5c6c0632d102cc0b9fbb841d8e
