Peggy was born in 1926 in Cardiff, Wales, and moved to Canada in 1945. She crossed the Atlantic on the Queen Mary with other war brides and arrived in St. John’s, NL in November 1945. Having raised her family in St. John’s, Peggy returned to London, England, and later married Rudy Nijenhuis in 1979. Peggy and Rudy then moved to St. Catharines, Ontario in 1992. Peggy and Rudy settled into the St Catharines community and became active members of the Dunlop Seniors Association.
