It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father and friend. Muhanad passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
Beloved by his wife and best friend Jenan (nee Al-Shikarchy). Loving father of Omar (Lily), Bashar (Maryam) and Zaid. Cherished grandfather of Emilia and Jordan. Dear brother of Saad (Salwa) of Michigan, Faris (Reem) of Massachusetts, and Dalia of Wales. He was predeceased by his parents, Kamil and Dixon (nee Mansoor); and brother Raad of Wales. He is also survived through his many cousins, nephews and nieces. Muhanad will be forever missed by his family and friends all over the world.
Born in Iraq, Muhanad and Jenan left Iraq to travel the world in search of a safe place to raise their young family. In 1990, Canada afforded such an opportunity where the Hassani's ultimately settled in Fonthill, in the town of Pelham. As a builder, Muhanad and Jenan helped develop and contribute to their community by building homes and providing care to retirement residents. Muhanad loved his community and will be missed.
Family and friends will be received at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Sunday, December 18th from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm.
The Funeral Mass to honour Muhanad's life will take place at St. Alexander's Catholic Church, 50 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill on Monday, December 19th beginning at 11:00 am.
Cremation will follow and the family will gather for a private interment at a later date.
