NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF PELHAM
*************************
The Town of Pelham has a new plow in the fleet that needs a name. With the launch of an online naming contest, Pelham residents are encouraged to submit their names for the newest plow in the town’s fleet.

“With such a great response when the fleet was originally named, what better way to give the newest snow plow a new moniker than with another contest?” said Pelham chief administrative officer David Cribbs. “With the polar vortex and winter weather we are currently experiencing, it’s a great opportunity to have some fun naming the plow.”

The Name a Plow contest is open to all Pelham residents. Residents are invited to be creative when coming up with a name for the newest plow in the fleet and using puns and pop culture references are encouraged. Anyone under the age of 18 must have their ideas submitted by a parent or legal guardian. Submissions are due online by February 18, with the new plow name to be announced in March 2025.

The newest plow will replace the now-retired Plowasaurus Rex and join the fleet with names previously selected by the community in 2023, which include Plowy, Taylor Drift, The Big LePlowski, Stormy, The Blizzard Wizard and Fast and Flurrious.

Additional information and the submission form can be found online at engagingpelham.ca.
