Work started Monday to remove the cladding that wraps around the metal frames of the Pelham arches above Pelham Town Square.
The stability of the structure was called into question after strong winds last November apparently caused the shearing of at least one bolt holding the various components together. Town Council subsequently decided to review the arches' safety, taking the initial step of removing the cladding.
Town Communications Specialist Leah Letford tells PelhamToday that the work should be completed by Tuesday or Wednesday this week.
