Get ready to set your DVR. On Monday, January 6, CBC will air the episode of Murdoch Mysteries that was filmed on Front Street.

Over the summer, camera crews descended upon Thorold to film an extra special episode of Murdoch Mysteries.

At the time, Murdoch producer Jeremy Hood told ThoroldToday that the downtown was an ideal location because of its heritage buildings.

“There’s not really a ton of what we would call ‘contamination’,” he said. “When you're looking straight up and down the sidewalk, you don't really see anything modern. Even the signs that you see look like they could be from that era.”

But while the show was filmed in Thorold, the episode's story will be set in Grimsby. Still, it’ll be a treat for observant residents to see Thorold immortalized on the TV screen.

The episode of Murdoch Mysteries is set to air on Monday, January 6, at 8 p.m. on CBC and CBC Gem.
