Thieves use blunt force to burglarize Thorold cannabis store

Thousands of dollars of product were stolen in a burglary at Coconut Cannabis on Front St. N over the weekend

Local cannabis shop Coconut Cannabis on Front St. N was burglarized over the weekend.

“Three masked individuals broke into the store via the front window,” store owner Anthony Candeloro tells ThoroldToday. “They used tools. They came very prepared.”

The suspects smashed several glass cabinets and stole thousands of dollars worth of product.

“They smashed the front window and climbed in,” says Candeloro. “They obviously made way with a lot of cannabis products, a lot of glassware products.”

Candeloro discovered the break-in the next day and immediately called the police.

“Upon arrival, officers learned a large glass window located at the front of the business was broken at approximately 2:50 a.m.,” writes the NRPS, in a statement to ThoroldToday. “Three male suspects with disguised identities entered the premise and obtained items from within the store. All three suspects exited via the broken window.“

Coconut Canabis has been around on Front St. S since 2022, but this is the first time the store has been targeted by burglars.

“From what I see cannabis stores do get targeted every know and then,” Candeloro says. “I’m obviously surprised and shocked. At the same time, I’m looking to move forward.”

Candeloro doesn’t have much hope that the culprits will be caught, but he shared footage from his security cameras on Facebook, in hopes that someone might come forward.

“That would be fantastic,” he says.
