Summer concerts return to packed Peace Park

Shuttle service, Indigenous vendors at Summer Chill, and new washrooms latest additions

Thursday nights during the summer are proving to be a hit with Pelham residents once again, as a huge crowd flocked to Peace Park this past Thursday for Summer Chill and its food vendor Supper Market, the Pelham Farmers Market (now in its 20th year), and the Bandshell Concert Series, which kicked off with the band Britishmania.

Before all that, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 4 PM, celebrating the official opening of the Town Hall renovation project. The new washroom facilities were a hit with attendees, replacing the portable toilets of previous years.

Indigenous vendors are an added feature to the expanded pop-up market as part of the Thursday night Pelham Summer Chill experience. They include Ms. Mae’s Company, Mulberry Design & Engravings, NPAAMB (Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board), RiksWorks, SunHeart Rises Designs, and The Barn Swallow Tea and Book Shop.

Free event parking is available at Fonthill United Church, Holy Trinity Church, St. Alexander Catholic School, Glynn A. Green Public School, the Fonthill Legion, and the Meridian Community Centre. Event shuttles to Peace Park are free, and operate in a 20-minute loop from the MCC, Fonthill United Church, and Lookout Ridge Retirement Home. They run from 4 PM until 9:30 PM.
