Representatives from Pride Niagara, Meridian Credit Union, Mayor Marvin Junkin, members of Town Council, and staff were on hand for the Town of Pelham's raising of the 2SLGBTQ+ Pride flag on Monday, May 29, at Pelham Town Hall.
"For the last 13 years Pride Niagara has been supporting Niagara’s 2SLGBTQ+ community through social outreach and connectivity," said Mayor Junkin.
"They have also been integral in developing Niagara Pride week which kicked off on Saturday May 27th and runs until June 4th. During Niagara Pride week there is a great line up of events from the 10th Annual Niagara UNITY Awards to the annual all ages Pride Prom and Pride in the Park. Today, as we raise the progressive pride flag across Niagara, it is an opportunity to continue to bring awareness, provide support and celebrate Niagara’s 2SLGBTQ+ heritage while building traditions together."
