PATH prepares for annual Earth Day festivities

Environmentalists from around the Niagara Region will showcase their concerns over protecting wetlands and water

The Pelham Advocates for Trees and Habitat is holding its annual Earth Day rally April 22 from 1-3 p.m. at the Meridian Community Centre in Fonthill.

Environmentalists from around the Niagara Region will showcase their concerns over protecting wetlands and water. Rhe event will be joined by Indigenous “Strong Water Women” singers. Main guest speakers include Liz Benneian from Biodiversity and Climate Action Change, and Joe Shawana, Indigenous youth activist.

A silent auction will open for bids until 2:30 p.m. at our Earth Day event. Bidding Starts at $500. Krista McMillan has donated an acrylic painting of a cherry tree that once stood at Balls Falls. McMillan is a well-known artist in Niagara with her many trees portraits. 

Monday morning, April 17, at 10 a.m the annual cleanup of the entire Steve Bauer Trail takes place.
