NEWS RELEASE
EVERTRUST DEVELOPMENTS
*************************
As Evertrust Developments awaits the Ministry of Labour’s (MOL) go-ahead to move forward with repairs on their Upper Vista Welland constructions site that suffered partial structural damage in the south tower last Saturday, secondary damage occurred today within the same area. The rest of the building remains intact.
Due to orders from the MOL, no access or work is permitted on site until the full investigation and report are received. This dictates Evertrust’s ability to reinforce the compromised area or do any further work at this time.
In an effort to move proactively despite the situation, the company has taken the initiative of moving construction machinery on location and are prepared to remediate the building as soon as permitted to do so.
Also, to ensure the utmost in public safety, Evertrust has completely secured the site with a fence border, cautionary signage and initiated 24 hour on-site security.
On Sunday February 26, 2023, concerned neighbours contacted Welland Emergency Fire Services as fragments continued to detach from the already damaged area and Evertrust wants to reassure the public that they continue to monitor the site, are following all protocols and look forward to receiving the MOL report so that repairs can begin to resolve all of the issues completely and as quickly as possible.
Although there has been a setback with the project, Evertrust, which has a long-standing reputation of building high quality luxury homes, looks forward to taking all necessary protocols to rectifying the current situation as they look forward to completing the sold out 226-unit project.
On a final note as the team at Evertrust continues to wait for access to the site to reinforce the surrounding structure there is the possibility of more damage happening within the area.
