Thirteen McDonald’s Restaurants across Niagara will be donating 50 cents from each sale of coffee or tea to United Way Niagara on Friday.

Stopping in at McDonald’s for that morning cup of coffee can go a long way to help United Way Niagara support children and families in need across the Region.

In Pelham, the McDonald’s location at 160 Hwy. 20 East. will be participating in the one-day campaign today where 50 cents from every coffee or tea sold will go to the United Way.

“As locally owned and operated businesses, we are excited to partner with an organization that supports children and families in our community,” said Anne Molnar, Community Relations Representative for 12 of the McDonald’s Restaurants in the Niagara Region taking part.

The funds raised will help the United Way fuel essential programs that provide food, shelter, and vital services to children and families facing a variety of challenges in Niagara.

“We are incredibly grateful for this partnership with McDonald’s and their ongoing dedication to strengthening our community,” said Frances Hallworth, CEO of United Way Niagara.

In addition to the restaurant in Fonthill, other McDonald’s locations taking part include five in Niagara Falls – 6348 Lundy’s Ln., 6161 Thorold Stone Rd., 7275 Oakwood Dr. and the Walmart on Oakwood as well as the location at 5486 Stanley Ave.; two in Niagara-on-the-Lake (300 Taylor Rd. and 1835 Niagara Stone Rd.); Port Colborne (569 Main St. West), Ridgway (409 Gorham Rd.) and Welland (102 Primeway Dr., 153 Lincoln St., 631 Niagara St.).
