Monday evening saw the opening of what has become an annual show of student art at the Meridian Community Centre.
Through December the upstairs gallery displays a combination of works by students who are in visual arts classes at E. L. Crossley Secondary School. The students in Grade 9 explored myths and stories that inspire imagination. They then sculpted their own Imaginary Mythological characters out of clay. The Grade 11 and 12 students delved into the age-old question of “Is Anybody out there?” and used mixed media to create their own artistic expression of what it is to be human.
