Escape the modern Christmas chaos, and join Parks Canada & the Friends of Fort George for the annual Fort George Garrison Christmas Event on December 14 & 15, 2024 from noon – 4:00 pm!
Come and experience Christmas traditions from the early 19th century! Fort George National Historic Site will be decorated for the holiday season with traditional decorations of garland and natural greenery in several buildings, and roaring fires in the Officer’s Quarters. Enjoy some music and musket demonstrations, while enjoying a hot beverage and treats! Join us for a fun filled afternoon of history, crafts, games, and music!
The Friends of Fort George Gift Shop has been decorated for the season as well! Located in the Visitors’ Centre, the Friends Gift Shop is stocked up with new books for all ages, period toys, chinaware, unique Christmas ornaments and more! We have items that are great for history lovers or those who have everything. So, be sure to stop by for a hot drink, become a member (and enjoy an additional discount) and find some great gifts for the holidays! Profits from sales in the gift shop are put towards student summer employment opportunities at Fort George & Brock’s Monument!
