NEWS RELEASE
FAITH WELLAND OUTREACH
*************************
Faith Welland Outreach is holding a Wellness Fair ahead of Seniors’ Month.
The fair, which is being held on May 31 at Faith Welland Church, will include presentations on topics such as insomnia, physical activity, scams, and mental health.
Jetta Witlib, registered nurse with Niagara Health Outpatients Mental Health, is one of the fair’s presenters says.
“It takes effort to remain healthy so knowing that our mental and physical health are actually closely connected and that making even small changes can have positive results is so empowering,” Witlib said.
The Ontario government is currently trying to pass legislation which would formally recognize Seniors’ Month in Ontario, which will serve as a catalyst to keep older adults socially connected and engaged in their respective communities.
Adds Betty Boyd, adult outreach coordinator for Faith Welland Outreach, “In a world where things are continually changing, and seniors can easily be lost in the shuffle, we’re seeing mature adults walk in purpose, welcoming the opportunities given to them to serve in their community.”
The community is welcome to attend the Wellness Fair on Wednesday, May 31 at 10 a.m. at Faith Welland Church, 380 South Pelham Rd., Welland. Contact [email protected] or 905-735-6811, ext. 20 to register.
