NEWS RELEASE
NIAGARA HEALTH
*************************
Niagara Health thanks the community for their continued patience and support as we adjust to our new Hospital Information System (HIS), which launched on Saturday. Delays in patient registration are already improving compared to Tuesday, and we are hopeful this progress will continue. Parking will remain free at all sites through the rest of the week.
While patient registration is moving faster, wait times in our Emergency Departments (EDs) remain longer than usual as we collectively adjust to the new system. We know this is frustrating, and we apologize for any inconvenience. Our teams are working hard to address each patient’s needs and reduce delays. Also, with respiratory illness season upon us, EDs are busier than ever.
We want to reassure everyone that patients with scheduled appointments will still be seen, although there may be some delays.
For non-urgent needs, we encourage community members to know your healthcare options like family doctors, walk-in clinics, virtual urgent care and pharmacies, which can help ease ED wait times and allow us to focus on the most critical cases. Please remember, high priority patients will always be seen first.
Our staff, from physicians and nurses to support teams and volunteers, are fully committed to providing care to everyone who comes to us. We thank them for their tireless work and dedication during this transition period.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we work through this system change and look forward to continued improvements that will ultimately enhance patient care and efficiency.
