Pelham Ward 1 Councillor Wayne Olson was feted to a 75th birthday party at the Fonthill Legion on Sunday afternoon. Mayor Marvin Junkin and a host of well-wishers were on hand to share a convivial meal and libations, and toast the Fenwick resident who first entered local politics in the 2020 by-election. Having no opposition, he was returned to council by acclaim last October.
Asked to what he attributed his longevity and good health, Olson chuckled and offered “clean living.” Indeed, he is a regular at a Fonthill fitness club, where his exercise trainer puts him through regular weight training workouts.
“We are all confident that Wayne has many more good years ahead of him,” said Junkin.
