The 3rd Fonthill Scouting Group, is looking forward to Apple Day this weekend, October 19th and 20th.

This annual event provides Scouting youth with an opportunity to show their appreciation to the general public for their support throughout the year. The youth distribute apples as a way of saying “Thank You” to the community. Donations are accepted in exchange, but apples are not sold.

This year the 3rd Fonthill Group, which includes both boys and girls ages 5+ enrolled in Beavers to Rovers will be out in the community this weekend in front of local businesses saying "Thank You" with apples! All money donated during Apple Day goes directly to the 3rd Fonthill program and is used towards providing more outdoor Adventures for youth, camping equipment, training and many other endeavours that the youth want to experience.

A big thank you to the community, local businesses who allowed the youth to be at their locations, the Town of Pelham, Johnson Farm for assisting with apples and the Fonthill Lions who provided the home base for apple day.

The Apple Day campaign holds a great tradition of being able to have youth interacting within the communities where they live. One hundred percent of the Apple Day donations stay directly within the Group that receives them, enabling youth to have experiences that build character, challenge them, and allow them to try new things!

The goal is to have these youth develop into confident and well rounded individuals, better prepared for success...Apple day helps to achieve that!
