Pelham-born author and former Voice columnist Adam Shoalts is embarking on a tour in support of his latest book, Where the Falcon Flies.

It's a story that takes readers on a 3,400-km journey from southern Canada to the Arctic. Inspired by the migration of a peregrine falcon, Shoalts faces challenges such as storms on the Great Lakes to navigating white-water rapids in northern rivers. The book spans five ecoregions and centuries of history. It explores the interconnectedness of wild places, from urban parks to the northern wilderness, emphasizing the vital importance of these connections, a news release said.

Shoalts in 2022 won the Louie Kamookak Medal for his work "making Canada better known to Canadians and the world.
