PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor regarding the upcoming provincial election:
I’ve been reading various pieces regarding the politicians of different parties, the promises they all make, the ‘hit piece’ comments about anyone, particularly anyone with opposing views, which often sound childish and irresponsible rather than reasoned debate.
Also, the fact checking reporting which is hardly objective, but appears as rather politically pointed.
I’ve also read of all these ‘additional’ millions, even billions which each political leader ‘promises’ to spend in order to buy our votes?
One thing I have not heard from a single party leader, from a single political party, who may actually win this election is, where will they be cutting ‘funding’, from many other existing government programs and services to allow these huge and additional policies to be implemented?
There can’t be any serious voter left who, hand on heart, can honestly see a single politician in today’s world who has even made an attempt to manage our tax dollars fiscally responsibly.
If that were the case, our taxes would not be increasing exponentially, as they do.
