PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor in response to complaints about snow removal in Pelham:
I have seen a few articles about complaints on the lack of winter maintenance by the Town. Well, I have to say with the amount of snow we get here and the minimal equipment that the Town has, I think the Town staff have done a very good job of clearing the path. Yes, sometime side streets get left till last or not clean enough. But as far as I can see the sidewalks are passable. Those small sidewalk plows have been doing a great and timely job clearing the way.
I like to take a walk every night after dinner, and always monitor the weather in the winter to see what condition the sidewalks might be in. Last week when I went out with full gear for the cold and the potential slippery conditions, I found salt on the all the sidewalks I walked, which is about 30 minutes around my general area. There was no slipping, and I saw that the little sidewalk plow had gone by and dispersed the granular butt saver.
Thank you to the Town staff for making our sidewalks a safe passage.
