PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor regarding Ontario Premier Doug Ford's environmental policies:
Premier Doug Ford is up to his pattern of bringing forth a controversial situation while all the time like a magician working over here, on something bigger, he does not want the Ontario public to look on.
Right now he is focusing unsuspecting public’s attention on the removal of bike lanes in Toronto and it is working people into a lather and so it should. The bike lanes are not even a car width wide so not a real stretch of a non solution to gridlock.
Gridlock seems to be an obsession with Ford with no sensible solutions.
But all more important the loss of precious farmland acres upon acres forever if Ford is not stopped in his tracks at doing again what he promised would never happen. Remember his soulful apologize about going into the Greenbelt?
He is again salivating to get the needless Highway 413 and Bradford Bypass through which will enrich his already rich cohorts. Where is this but right smack in the Greenbelt.
Gee, another lie.
Marit Stiles, the NDP, the Green Party, learned environmental groups, farmers and their groups are warning us to get on board and protest with whatever means you can to get the attention of your elected officials that this is not what we want for further generations, food insecurity worldwide, wetlands, nature, etc. Bill 212 will allow the highways if not defeated. Condescending Ford called it the public worrying about a “grasshopper."
Let this sink in. Here is a man set to eliminate forever priceless species, farmlands and the list goes on, and he comes up with just “grasshoppers."
The stress this man causes taxpayers daily cannot be overestimated. Vote him out of office for the sake of us all.
