PelhamToday received the following letter to the editor regarding Pierre Poilievre:
Mr Poilievre gave a loud speech about the “biggest patriotic tax cuts”. Which social programs, educational programs, medical programs, research programs, et cetera were not identified, yet. This followed by suggestion of an increase in “powerful paycheques.” (who will get said paycheque?) Undoubtedly Mr Poilievre’s affluent allies will benefit.
His playbook follows closely that of President Trump. Be it crypto, which Mr Poilievre crowed about, or cutting our country’s public communication CBC, Mr Poilievre seems to think Canadians will be easily distracted by his recent pivot to copy Americans on the path to the promised land.
Bad move Mr Poilievre! Mutate just to win is not the best game plan. Canadians are deeply disturbed and distrustful of what is occurring in the US. Canadians want an honest leader with realistic vision for economic growth, both personal and national. Not an authoritarian who will gut the democratic mechanisms of the country creating more division.
