Executive Director

Position: Permanent, full-time.

Overview: The Athabasca Native Friendship Centre Society has served Urban Indigenous people for over
30 years as a non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life of Indigenous people residing in the Athabasca area. The Society coordinates several programs to connect Indigenous people with their culture, language, and community resources.

Location: Athabasca, AB

Start Date: When a suitable candidate is found.

Responsibilities:

•    Establish organizational objectives and execute plans to achieve them.

•    Plan and allocate finances, human resources, and material management to implement organizational policies and programs.

•    Serve as the organization’s representative internally and externally.

Requirements:

•    Excellent communication skills, particularly relating to the mandate and vision of ANFCS.

•    Cultural competence and relevant knowledge.

•    Experience with budget management, grant/proposal writing and program evaluation.

•    Extensive experience relating to staff supervision and development.

•    Valid driver’s license.

Salary based on education and experience (starting at $64 000 annually)
