Surface Haulage Truck Driver

Reports To: Site Services Supervisors
Location:  ERM

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Surface Haulage Truck Driver is responsible for the operation of a Kenworth C500 Surface hauler to transport ore from the 70 m ore bin along 20 km to the Mill stockpile.  Other responsibility includes removing waste from the 70 m waste bin along 2 km to the surface waste pile.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountabilities and duties will include but not limited to the following:

• Complete daily pre-operational checks as required
• Clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure efficient operations
• Ensure ore / waste is properly loaded according to safety requirements
• Participate in training and continuous improvement
• Report any situation that may affect equipment’s operation to Supervisor 
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents / injuries in a timely manner and with the proper paperwork to the Supervisor 
• Comply with all safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements
• Respect, always, the environment and Health and Safety policies 
• Record data daily as per logs
• Troubleshoot issues and take immediate remedial action
• Complete daily housekeeping duties 
• Communicate for effective operations
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS– Education, Experience, Certifications

• DZ driver license
• Previous experience operating surface haulage trucks on bush road year round
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently 

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Remote camp work 
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Work may be required outside of regular hours, as per business needs
• The physical requirements of this position include reading, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, repetitive motions, balancing, pushing, pulling and ability to lift up to 20 lbs
• Rotating 12 hour shifts on a 7/7 schedule
