Please READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, particularly the part about credit card authorizations. In short, each time you place a bid, the system places a hold authorization for that amount on your card. When you are outbid, the hold is released. If you bid $50 on ten different items, this means $500 of your available balance will be unavailable until you're outbid. Any winning bids at the end of the auction are captured - meaning your card is charged. We recommend you use a credit card, not a debit card for this auction. A released hold may take several days to reflect on your statement.

Budapest Bakeshop was founded by the wife and husband team of Anett and Todd Kane in 2018. The couple, who has always had a passion for the food industry, wanted to do something unique from Anett’s Hungarian heritage. Being born and raised in Hungary, Anett grew up in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother, always making and baking different foods from scratch.
After making Chimney Cakes, known as KürtÅ‘skalács in Hungarian, for their friends and family, Anett and Todd decided it was time to bring these to a larger audience. Chimney Cakes are long ribbons of a sweet yeast dough that are wrapped around a specialized baking dowel then placed in a rotisserie-style oven. The baking dowel is removed once the chimney comes out of the oven, leaving a golden-brown cake that is smoking like a chimney!
In 2019 the couple opened their first bakeshop in historic Niagara on the Lake in a small space on Victoria and Queen Street and welcomed the local Niagara community along with tourists from all over the world. With a small hard-working team to start, they quickly outgrew their first location and moved to a larger space on Queen Street in the early spring of 2021. Fast forward to the summer of 2022, the couple announced the opening of a second location in the picturesque town of Port Dalhousie which opened its doors to the people of St. Catharines in November of 2022.
Budapest Bakeshop prides itself in creating a unique food experience for its guests. Once you enter the bakeshop you immediately see all the preparation and baking front and center. Every single Chimney Cake is prepared from scratch each day. This process ensures the freshest dough going in and coming out of the oven. You can watch the different style of Chimneys spinning slowly in the ovens some with caramelizing sugar or some with melting cheese. Not only can you see everything in action, you can smell it too!
