Hearing gunshots in Pelham this week?

Don't call the police, because it is the police. Training on Canboro Rd. includes simulated gun fire, controlled explosions and the smell of smoke

NIAGARA REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE

On May 2 and 3, 2024, the Niagara Regional Police Service Emergency Task Unit will be conducting indoor/outdoor training in the area of Centre Street and Canboro Road in Pelham.

The training will occur between the hours of:

  • 9:00AM – 3:00PM (May 2)
  • 9:00AM – 12:00PM (May 3)

There will also be signage in the area. Traffic in the immediate area should be unaffected. 

Members of the public in the area should expect:

  • The sound of simulated gun fire.
  • An increased police presence.
  • The sound of controlled explosions.
  • The possible smell of smoke.

The public and media are asked to stay away from the training sites for their safety and the safety of the officers involved.
